Sunday Fun Day at the Zoo

On Sunday, my boys and I spent the afternoon at the zoo.  We met up with some friends which always makes a good time even better:)  We all enjoyed the delicious kettle corn ( a little too much:) and of course all of the animals.  We look forward to spending many more days at the zoo, especially before it gets to be 200 billion degrees (okay 110 degrees, but it feels the same!).

Mason loved the goats in the petting zoo.  He did not want to leave this area.

"Mom, can we take this one home?"

They both look guilty!

Mason may just want to be a farmer when he grows up.  He really enjoyed this tractor!

Move out of my way!

As long as there is a steering wheel, Mason will play with it:)

Getting tired after a long day.

My little guy now enjoys watching the animals!  He is growing up so fast.

I love watching Mason and Marc together!

He loves his daddy soooooo much!

18 Month Check Up

Mason had his 18 month well check visit with the doctor this week.  Dr. Curley's words were, "Mason is doing excellent.  He is ahead of the game.  He is doing things that we look for at the 2 year old visit."  That's my boy! He's already an overachiever:)  Mason continues to be in the 85th percentile for head size, weight (27.5 pounds), and height (33 1/2 inches tall).  The entire visit wasn't all perfect though.  When we first stepped foot into the building, Mason went into melt down mode.  He is very familiar with this building and sure as heck did not want to be there.  As we trudged down the hallway, the tears started falling and my little boy was trying to squirm his way out of my arms and run in the other direction.  He even freaked out when we put him on the scale!  After the nurse checked his vitals, then he finally calmed down.  I brought along VocabuLarry and he was perfect the rest of the visit.  LOL!  That video is coming with me every time now.  The doctor explained that all of his new behaviors (tantrums, not eating as well, refusing naps, sudden shyness, etc.) are completely normal for his age.  My little guy is acting like a typical toddler.  I am kind of looking forward to him growing out of this stage, but I think it is only going to get worse before it gets better:)

Here are some recent pictures of my little 18 month old!
Taking a break from cooking:)

Mason loves the Splash Pad, unfortunately he has to wait until it gets a little warmer.

For now, he is content staring at the water from a distance.

Check me out!

"Ooohh!  I like these sparkly shoes!"

Mason's new favorite seat in the house.

"I'll get it for you Mom!"

"I crack myself up!"

"I will have some milk please.  It does a body good!"

VocabuLarry Time

At 1 1/2 years old, Mason knows how to navigate through technology, especially his favorite applications on my iPad.  It is great on one hand because I want him to be able to keep up with our ever-growing technology advancing world, but it is frustrating because the second he sees the iPad, he screams out "La-wee, La-wee".  That stands for this annoying parrot named Larry, who teaches toddlers new vocabulary words.  Mason could watch that colorful parrot all day if we let him.  On a positive note, he has learned so many new words because of this show and it makes the kid so happy.  Here is a video of how excited Mason gets when he is watching his beloved VocabuLarry.  (Yes, he is sitting on Penny's bed:)

How I Love Mason? Let Me Count the Ways...

My little angel is officially 1 1/2 years old today.  As he continues to grow (sniffle, sniffle:), I find new things that I love about him every day.  Let me count the ways...
  1. I love that every time Mason laughs hard, he snorts and instantly gets the hiccups.  That sweet sound can bring a smile to my face, no matter what kind of day I am having.
  2. I love the tickle sound that Mason makes.  I even enjoy it when he tries to lift my shirt in public to tickle my belly.
  3. I love that Mason repeats everything we say.  He is such a smart young boy and I am beyond excited for his future.
  4. I love that we can take Mason to any restaurant.  He is usually well behaved and can sit for a long time (as long as we bribe him with food or sugar packets:).
  5. I love how he yells "Momma" when I pick him up from daycare and comes running into my arms.  (It wasn't always like this)
  6. I love how much Mason loves Momma and Poppa.  Whenever they are around, no one else seems to matter.  I also love that he looks forward to Wednesdays when he gets to spend the whole day with Momma.
  7. I love how obsessed Mason is with his sister (Penny:).  He always calls for her when we get home.  He hits her face, pulls on her tail, and tries to lay on her all out of brotherly love!
  8. I love how independent Mason is becoming.  He wants to do everything on his own.  I have him trained well because he barely makes a mess when he feeds himself.  He still struggles with soup though:)
  9. I love the look on his face when Daddy comes home from work.  No one can make Mason laugh like his daddy.  Whether Daddy is wrestling with Mason, playing peek-a-boo, dancing for him during the Creature Report song from Octonauts, or just cuddling on the couch, Mason has the brightest, biggest smile (and snort sounds:).
  10. I love that Mason is a perfect combination of Marc and I.  He is such a loving, caring little guy and I am happiest being with my 2 favorite boys and my Penny.
I love you Mason more and more each day!  Thank you for being such a blessing and perfect addition to our family!

Birthday at the Spa

Today was the most perfect day!  Thanks to my best girls, Brooklyn, Rosanna, Jessica, and Amelia, we all spent the day at the Joya Spa at the Montelucia Resort.  Our day consisted of working out, massages, hanging by the pool, and enjoying all of the amenities.   I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend this day.  When I got home, Marc surprised me with a fabulous dinner that he prepared and a special date night set for next weekend for dinner and a show, The 50 Shades of Grey Parody.  My day ended with my 2 favorite boys and Penny cuddling on the couch.  How did I ever get so fortunate to have such an amazing life?!  XOXOXO

This is the way to celebrate a birthday!  Love my girls!!!

Gorgeous Ladies (and Baby)

I think Rosanna enjoyed her first time at the spa!  None of us wanted to leave:)

Releasing the negative energy!

Thanks for a fabulous day!!!!  Love you all:)
